Connected to the Palms Casino Resort, Palms Place is its more refined younger sister — minus the gaming. It has an all-suite tower that offers fantastic views of the Strip as well as a lounge, spa and pool.
The vibe:
Luxury-leaning hotel with reasonable rates, contemporary, quiet
What we love:
Palms Place is a short drive from the Strip, doesn’t feel congested and whenever you crave gaming or more choices in food, nightlife and entertainment, nearly everything you could want is right next door at the Palms.
Not a fan of casinos and smoking? Don’t want to be among the crowds at resorts on the Strip? Then Palms Place is for you. It’s also not bad for folks with kids.
The accommodations at Palms Place feel more like urban condos than hotel rooms. You’ll have a fully equipped kitchen (yes, that includes a blender) at your fingertips. In addition to at least two large plasma TVs, there’s a spa tub, waterfall shower and small TV in the bathroom.
Insider tips:
Don’t go outside to get to the Palms, especially in summer. Look for the enclosed Skytube with a moving walkway on the second floor of Palms Place. It connects both hotels and is air conditioned.
As mentioned, Palms Place is a short but unwalkable distance from the Strip. If you don’t have a car, use the free shuttles provided by the Palms at the west entrance near the sports book, which drops off and picks up at Caesars Palace.
The resort’s Drift Spa & Hammam boasts just that — the city’s first hammam. If you’ve never been in a Turkish co-ed steam bath (that’s what a hammam is), then this is your chance. Your body, mind and spirit will thank you.
Good to know:
Opened in 2008, Palms Place isn’t brand spankin’ new, but it’s in fairly good condition. The rooms feel modern and are filled with great amenities, but since they’ve never been remodeled you may find spots showing wear and tear as well as fixtures and appliances that could use some updating.
The lighting is quite dim in the hallways and actually in the rooms too. But that’s just due to decor choices, which include lots of small lamps with funky and interesting shapes.
Palms Place doesn’t have its own parking garage. The hotel does offer valet parking at their main entrance. If you prefer to park your car, you can use the west garage at the Palms, but you’ll have to walk through the garage and around the exterior of Palms Place to enter it. There are also some parking spots in front of the hotel, but then you’ll have to stroll up the driveway — and maybe dodge a few vehicles — before you get in.
